300 Series refers to 'latest technology' alternators which use square wire (segment conductor 'hairpin') wire on the stators. These super-efficient units can yield large outputs and we manufacture most of the alternator cases in house from billet, in order to offer a wide range of 'plug & play' alternators.
300 Series alternators can be rewound and uprated to almost double their outputs. Suffix '-HO' is added to the part number. This increase in output is yielded at higher rpm therefore 'HO' 300 Series units often need 1.5-2 times more speed for output and cooling. They are less efficient than a standard unit at low rpm.
